Yes it has taken me a whole 10 days to write this, annnnnd breathe. Britmums live will take it out of you!
I want to start by saying a huge thank you to Privatedoc for sponsoring me to go to the event. They have huge things on the horizon, so watch this space everyone…
Most of you know that I moved house two days after BML and so not only have I had to digest the most wonderful of weekends I’ve had some rather fantastic moments in my personal life too.
So, Britmums live. It was a bit brilliant wasn’t it? I knew I would walk away content that I had finally met in person all those in the blogging world whom I admire, respect and more importantly have formed some of the strongest most meaningful friendships with, that I have ever known.
The buzz is amazing and everywhere you look there is someone you want to stop and talk to. It’s really hard to get around everyone because it’s so manic and I do wish I’d had more time to sit and chat but everyone is so busy.
We started the weekend off by breaking a Guinness World Record, as you do! The most mummies wrapped as mummies. It was a great way to kick things off and a definite ice breaker.
I must admit I haven’t walked away feeling I have learnt anything I didn’t already know. I don’t mean that in a big headed sort of way but the few sessions I did make it to (in-between gassing and copious wine drinking) were more inspiring than informative. Which is fine, I needed to feel inspired and I am, very much so. This blog is going to be seeing some changes with a bigger focus on fashion and style, regular weekly features and lots more vlogging too.
For those of you who stumble upon this post next year because you want to know about the dress code, these pics are for you! I was so pleased to see that lots of the ladies dressed up and let’s face it I don’t need much of an excuse to glam it up in a dress and heels.
I was delighted with my outfit choices over the two days* Day one I wore the most beautiful wrap style dress by Gina Bacconi in a very subtle snake print. I love the style of these dresses as they are made to flatter a woman’s figure. I teamed my Gina Bacconi dress with my LK Bennett Stila nude heels and survived in them for most of day one, swapping to flats for the tube journey back to my sister’s house (wine+heels+walking=a no no) I’ve spotted that this dress is in the John Lewis sale now for £69.30 so grab it while you can!
On day two I wore the most gorgeous dress by Planet. I adore the vibrant leaf print of this dress, the sun was shining and it was the perfect choice of smart yet summery allowing me to feel professional but not over-dressed. This dress is also designed to make the best of a figure like mine, accentuating and enhancing my curves, with the dress stopping at just the right place on the knee. I wore my flat office pumps on day two but have since teamed this outfit with wedge sandals for a date night with Mr T which looked good with it. This will be my outfit of choice for wearing on holiday so I’ll get lots of wear from it. This dress is also in the sale for £79.00 I would highly recommend it for it’s versatility-easy to dress up or down. Be quick as they will sell out fast!
Lastly, we have moved as you know from all my new house spam on social media. However, our internet is yet to be connected hence the sporadic radio silence. Normal service to be resumed by the end of this week!
It was so amazing to meet you all at Britmums Live and a weekend I won’t forget in a hurry. Frankly I can’t wait until next year…
*Thank you so much to both Gina Bacconi and Jacques Vert group for gifting me with outfits for the event. I am really grateful and felt really glam both days.
