I’m delighted to announce that for the next few months we will be working with Huggies Drynites® in our new ambassador role. It’s a bit of a weight off my mind to have expert help at my fingertips and I’m really looking forward to sharing our journey with you all, here on the blog.
Did you know that 1 in 4 children wet the bed at age four?
I have previous experience of handling bed-wetting as Lewis (now 17) used to have night time accidents until he was at least five. I remember worrying at the time and thinking that the bed wetting stage was never going to end, of course, it did eventually and in retrospect, I was a lot more bothered by it than he was.
There really is no need to feel worried because bed wetting is actually a perfectly normal part of growing up and affects more than 900,000 children and young people in the UK.
I don’t know if Drynites® were even available all those years ago and so I managed by constantly washing sheets due to leaking nappies that just didn’t cut the mustard when it came to absorbency.
Step in Drynites® to offer a helping hand with Rose’s journey and save me time and unnecessary stress! One of the first things I noticed about Drynites® is that not only do they look and feel like real underwear (a massive plus point for a toddler that doesn’t want to wear a nappy) they are incredibly absorbent too.
We have potty training completely nailed during the day but night time is a different story. For the next few months we will be documenting and vlogging our journey with Drynites® and sharing the tools and knowledge you need to share in your child’s confidence and help them overcome the bedwetting phase.
I really think confidence is key. Having older children I can reassure you that just as with fussy eating, midnight bed hopping and temper tantrums bedwetting is most likely just a phase that will pass with time.
Not surprisingly Rose has far fewer bedwetting episodes when she’s wearing Drynites® she recognises that they are like real underwear which helps her to feel more grown up – she mostly likes that they have the Frozen characters on them (yep, we’re still Frozen crazy here!) I love that they offer the all-important discreet protection. My aim is just to make Rose feel as comfortable and as confident as possible and remind myself that this stage is completely normal and we will get there in the end, together.
Do pop over and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Vlogging is one of the best bits of my job so it’s really exciting to be sharing our journey with you ‘in person’. If you have any specific questions to put to the Drynites® experts then let me know and I can answer a Q&A in one of the videos for you.
