Ganly changing bag byStroom review (and how you can win one on Instagram)

Mother holding a large changing bag and a toddler

Those that know me will tell you that along with an embarrassingly large lipstick hoard, bags are ‘my thing’. I collect them; large or small bright pink or muted grey. I enjoy using a different one depending on the situation and well, I just love bags! Imagine my delight when byStroom* got in touch to ask if I’d like a brand new one to add to my arsenal? It was perfect timing actually, considering we are heading off on our holidays next month and so a bag suitable (and large enough) to use as hand luggage was on my wishlist.

Naturally, I went for the largest and most stylish bag to suit my particular needs and WOW it’s a cracker!

The Ganly changing bag in mocha is a stunning bag and very spacious indeed, perfect for a weekend away, a mama with twins or maybe you just need to carry around a lot of stuff – this is the bag for you.

Read on to find out how you can win a Ganly over on my Instagram.

Now I’m going to be 100% honest here, I have A LOT of bags in my collection, from Mark Jacobs to Mulberry and also various popular changing bags that I’ve been sent over the years. I am a bit of a bag snob. I chose the Ganly because of the way it looked and its size, without taking much notice of what material it was made from. When it arrived I just assumed it was leather, and I know what a real leather bag looks like, believe me. So I began writing my review and it suddenly occurred to me that I was about to write ‘this bag is made from the softest leather’ but I thought I’d better just check on the byStroom site what it’s made from; turns out it isn’t leather and do you know what? I couldn’t care less because I adore it! Perhaps I’m not such a bag snob after all…

The Ganly bag looks like real leather but it’s not and I guess that’s revealed in the £90.00 price tag because you get a whole lot of bag for your buck. It’s also water and dirt resistant and can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth, which, let’s face it is a massive plus point when you have kids!

As you can see from the pictures the Ganly has a beautiful pleated effect which adds a bit of interest and the double handles make for a really on-trend design. It’s very different from all my other bags and the colour is just gorgeous, it’s very chic. There are two large pockets either end of the bag, large enough to put bottles in or a cup if you’re at that stage with your little one. I keep my car keys and phone in one end so I don’t have to rummage and Rose’s water bottle the other end. The main zip extends the entire length of the bag so you can open it the whole way and see everything inside clearly.

Inside the bag’s biggest compartment is split in two by a central zipped pocket and there are eight (yes eight!) additional smaller pockets in the funky printed lining. This bag gives you the opportunity to get some serious organisation going on! It is going to be so useful when we are on the plane and I will be able to fit in Rose’s iPad, her games, a colouring book and pens etc. There’s also a detachable and adjustable shoulder/pram strap and the bag comes with a changing sheet, a bottle holder and a toiletry bag in a unisex grey colour with logo printing.

Measurements:

  • Length: 45 cm
  • Depth: 20 cm
  • Height: 37 cm

So far I’ve been using this bag day-to-day for the purposes of this review and it’s been brilliant. Last week we ventured to the local park for a swim and a picnic, I wanted to really put the bag through its paces so decided to see just how much I could pack into it. Here’s what we took:

For Rose:

  • Swimming towel
  • Swimming costume
  • Spare outfit/pants/ socks etc
  • Wet wipes

For lunch:

  • An entire french stick (!)
  • Pack of cheese
  • Pack of ham
  • Big bag of pretzels
  • Punnet of tomatoes
  • 2 pints of milk (for Mr T, he likes milk ok?!)
  • Huge 2-litre water bottle

Usual stuff:

  • Car keys
  • Phone
  • Purse
  • Lipstick
  • Camera

Can you fit that much into your changing bag?

I felt like Mary Poppins, seriously I can’t even describe to you the look on people’s faces when I pulled out the french stick!

If you are looking for a spacious changing bag that is chic, elegant and stylish then you really needn’t look any further than the Ganly byStroom it’s hands down the most practical bag I own and I’m so pleased with it. Do check out their other gorgeous bags in the byStroom range if you’re after something smaller, there is definitely something for everyone on their site. I am so over the moon with the Ganly and can’t wait to take it on holiday.
