Garfunkel's Bath |
Yesterday evening we were very kindly invited to preview the Christmas Party Menu at Garfunkel's in Bath. With glorious views of the city, the promise of a lovely Christmas atmosphere and top quality food on offer, it would have been hard to refuse.

For our main course we were brought a selection of meats; confit of duck leg and roast chicken, pigs in blankets and some stuffing. We also had a bowl of seasonal veg each which consisted of mini roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and the most gorgeous roast parsnips. Justin said they were the best he'd tasted and then very quickly added apart from the ones I make him! We both agreed that the veg is as important as the meat when having a meal like this and that poorly cooked veg can completely ruin the whole meal. So a big thumbs up from us for that. The duck leg was absolutely divine and I almost didn't have enough room for the massive portion of chicken, but since I'd been saving myself all day I thought it would be rude not to give it a good go!

For dessert Justin chose the Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce and I went for the warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream (obviously!) Both of those disappeared within a matter of minutes and as we were in a nice restaurant I resisted the urge to lick my plate!
