On Saturday we went to Southerndown beach, Bridgend. It was only an hour drive from where we live in Bristol and is somewhere we’ve never been before. I was not expecting to find such a beautiful place surrounded on one side by moorland and on the other, the most ferocious of waves as they crashed against the sandy shoreline.
The beach was covered in gigantic pebbles that formed rock pools and I was kicking myself for not bringing a net or any wellies for Rose but she enjoyed exploring them by just looking.
A short walk away was a castle with a walled garden, everything was just perfect about the place. We watched the sun setting and then got in the car, drank hot chocolate from a flask and I thought to myself life is good.
Don’t you just love that?
