Olverum Bath Oil review | Or in other words the best bath oil EVER…

Olverum bath oil: best bath ever!

Ok, I’m going to go out on a limb and make a really bold statement here: this really is the best bath oil EVER!

Now obviously I haven’t tried all the bath oils but I have bought a fair few and none can match up to this one. Using Olverum Bath Oil is hands down the most luxurious bathing experience I have ever had in my life.

I’m going to tell you a little story about how I happened to be reviewing this bath oil…

Usually, a PR will email me with a review proposal and I then decide whether or not I like the sound of the product enough to want to try it out and write about it. In the case of the (lovely) PR who contacted me about Olverum, my email address bounced back. Weird I know, but she had my number so decided to give me a call, to cut a long story short she really sold the bath oil to me on the phone, now of course it’s her job to be enthusiastic about the product but hey, it’s a bath oil how great can it be?

Turns out it’s absolutely incredible.

So, had I got that email I might have thought – bath oil – Meh, once you’ve tried one, you’ve tried them all thanks but no thanks and all that… BUT I didn’t, the PR called and told me how amazing it is and that I simply had to try it and tell you all about it and thank the God of cleanliness (Hygieia, if you’re interested) I agreed because I absolutely LOVE it.

It’s incredible.

Firstly let’s talk about the packaging; simple design and elegant glass embossed bottle, it’s heavy, it just oozes quality before you’ve even opened it. When you do and pour just half a capful into a hot bath – and you really only need half a capful don’t be tempted to use more you don’t need to – it is wonderful, just pure bliss.

Olverum is a highly concentrated therapeutic bath oil which contains 10 essential oils, the formulation has remained largely unchanged for a staggering 83 years. Why mess with perfection I say! I used to shower much more regularly than have a bath but since receiving the oil it’s the other way round, I would choose Olverum any day of the week, I’ve been trying not to use it daily though because I don’t want it to run out!

The bath oil gives off the most heavenly scent, it’s strong and fills the whole of the upstairs but not at all overpowering, absolute utopia.

I am not great at describing smells but I get rosemary, eucalyptus and pine. I think I am actually addicted to the stuff. I can not wait to have a bath to relax and unwind and afterward the smell lingers on your skin and you feel so serene. The oil is completely non-greasy, I have even washed my hair in the bath and it’s not oily after doing so but my skin feels silky smooth.

If I could compare the smell to anything it comes close to Molecule 01 the very famous unisex perfume that has, not surprisingly only one molecule and is renowned for being seductive. Both have a sexy smell and very aromatic which is completely intoxicating.

I know it may sound a bit of an over-the-top reaction for a bath oil but this is something very, very special indeed. So special in fact that I’ve heard this is the bath indulgence of choice for three generations of the royal family. It doesn’t surprise me in the least. In fact, I recently had a work lunch with Alesha Dixon and had bathed in the Olverum the night before, Alesha said I smelt lovely.

So there you go, fans of Olverum include royalty AND Alesha Dixon.

If you buy yourself just one treat this month you absolutely have to try this, I promise you once you’ve used it you will totally understand why I love it so much, it really is the best. If you do get some please let me know what you think either here in the comments or on Twitter where you will most likely be telling me you’ve just had the best bath of your life!

Would I spend my own money on it? Without a doubt, I couldn’t be without it.
