The Style Edit: French Connection maxi dress

When maxi dresses came into fashion a few years ago, I remember buying my first one and feeling it was such a beautiful garment to wear. Floaty, romantic, girly and very forgiving in style.

I think anyone suits a max dress-whatever your shape, height or size and that is the real beauty of such a versatile garment. They can be dressed down in the day with a pair of flat sandals and dressed up at night with a wedge heel and statement jewellery.

This French Connection dress is a particular favourite of mine; summery ditsy print pattern, empire tie waist and a slight cap sleeve makes it one of the most flattering dresses I own and very comfortable to wear.

Perfect for an afternoon spent wandering the local lavender fields which turned out to be a stunning backdrop for this week’s style edit.

Do take note though, there are bees aplenty around lavender and if you’re not careful they may just fly up your maxi dress and end up in your bra. Just a warning ;-)

This particular dress is sold out online but there is another version here, same style but different pattern and perfect for evening wear. Plus it’s in the sale down from £75 to £35!
