The Style Edit: Mama Style

IMG_2218

Last week I went to a wedding and although I have lots of dresses it was the perfect excuse to pop out and buy one more-just don’t tell Mr T because I’ve had this one ages, ok? Wearing all white to someone’s nuptials is a complete no-no of course but I often wonder if it’s acceptable to wear black to a wedding and I think it’s fine as long as it isn’t too much black.

Off to John Lewis I went and chose a black and nude lace number by Adrianna Papell I wore it without tights and nude LK Bennett shoes. This dress was a lovely fit and hit just above the knee which is the most flattering length for me. It was also cut ever so slightly off the shoulder which I loved.

Wearing a dress by Adrianna Papall

I really enjoy putting together my style edit and have invited other mums to share their mama style here on my blog too! So let’s see what Ali and Nicci have been wearing lately…

Mama style: Nicci

Vera Wang style

Nicci blogs over at LadyNicci and was rocking her look Vera Wang style at a recent wedding. She teamed her Monsoon dress with a gorgeous full petticoat. This is a look that I would really like to have a go at, it’s pretty but with edge, absolutely love it Nicci! Get the look by visiting Nicci’s blog.

Mama style: Ali

casual chic style for mums

Ali from Mum in a Nutshell has been keeping it casual and is attempting to create a capsule wardrobe. Something I have the best intentions of doing but can never quite achieve, I think I need to be more ruthless but I am such a hoarder. Ali’s outfit fits the casual/chic bill perfectly and I really like the swing jumper, but what I like even more is that it’s an absolute bargain from Apricot clothing. Get all the deets at Ali’s blog.

Thanks so much for joining in this feature ladies. Don’t they both look gorgeous?

If you would like to show off your mama style then let me know. You don’t need a blog to join in just comment below, find me on Twitter, or get in touch on Facebook I would be so happy to hear from you!

I love the way the nude lightens the black – definitely a bit more interesting than block black lbd. I’m a bit of a Monsoon fan too so shall be checking the extra petticoat idea out.

What a lovely dress, very chic, I really like the lace numbers around at the moment. I would never have though about putting a petticoat under a dress such a simple idea but it looks brilliant xx

That dress, amazing! I also love the capsule wardrobe idea but I still own things from about 6 years ago and can’t let go, it’s awful. xx
