I mentioned in my recent ‘week in pictures’ that I’ve bought the Joules Tweed Field Coat. I’ve been wanting one for the last couple of winters so this year I decided to treat myself. The quality as you would expect from Joules is outstanding. The tweed is absolutely gorgeous and the fit is spot on (I got a size 12) It’s a semi-fitted coat so it sits just right even with a jumper underneath and is comfortable to move around in. It’s very warm and you don’t really need to layer up too much with it. Today was a cold, brisk but bright day, Mr T and I took Rose to the Zoo and I this is what I wore. I thought it went nicely with my Joules Alexi tunic underneath and M&S chocolate brown winter boots.
I got the coat in the ‘Mr toad’ green colour. This is the colour that comes to mind when I think of tweed. It also comes in two other colours which are really nice, I really like the brown one. Another thing I love about the coat is the floral lining which is very eye-catching when wearing the coat open and a quality touch. Lining, pockets, buttons and trim are quite important to me when choosing a Winter coat and you get what you pay for.
It really is a timeless piece that I think I will appreciate year after year and it feels as though it’s made to last. All in all a really good buy and I’m very happy with it. I’m actually secretly pleased that the weather is now cold enough for a Winter coat!
