Thank you for popping over from Aby Moore’s amazing Blogging Changes Lives Online Summit. I hope you enjoyed my food photography and styling session. I know that understanding the manual mode on your camera can be daunting but I promise you, once you get to grips with it your images will improve dramatically.
I can not stress enough that there are only 3 things to understand when using manual mode. We’ve been over them in the session and below is a visual cheat sheet you can use to really get to grips with the settings. I keep saying it’s trial and error and it really is. Don’t forget that food photographers sometimes take 100s of shots in one session and only have a few to choose from at the end. This is totally normal!
Practice, practice, practice…
I’ve got a pdf version of my notes from the sessions for you too. On there is a list of ideas where you can buy props: a well-stocked box of plates, pretty bowls, napkins and spoons will also help you immensely with your food photography and enable you to tell your food story.

And don’t forget to join my mailing list to be notified of my upcoming courses and 1:1 mentorships.
I wish you every success in your food photography and styling adventures!
