Time for my Friday favourites I want to share a few things with you guys that I’ve been loving this week and what we’ve been up to.
Here’s my weekly round-up…
I’m loving blog life this week and so proud to announce that I’m now a Huffington Post blogger which is really exciting for me and a personal goal I set out to accomplish this year. When I got the news I felt as though I was walking on air for the whole day and my family were so proud. I was also featured as a tots100 good read this week for my post ‘what happens when your teenage daughter tells you she has a boyfriend’ I have some other jolly exciting things in the pipeline and so blog life is brilliant at the moment. Makes all the hard work worth it-I’m sat typing now and it’s currently 1.33am eeek!
I love it when the kids have time off school. It makes for a much more relaxed household and certainly less manic. This week I’m enjoying spending time with the kids. We’ve been doing things like going for mocktails, lunching out, girly shopping trip with Holly, not so girly shopping trip with Lewis and playing games at home. Rose even made her brother and sister home made Easter eggs which was a lovely fun activity for her and she was really proud presenting them, so cute!
I don’t watch too much tv as I’m usually busy blogging but do enjoy a bit of background noise and this week I’ve been enjoying season 3 of Vikings on Amazon prime. If you haven’t seen Vikings before I definitely recommend it if you fancy some escapism for an hour and being catapulted back in time. I also love how the women are portrayed so strongly. Lagertha is utterly fierce and stunningly beautiful. Whenever I watch, it makes me want to do fancy plaits in my hair, and release my inner Viking or should that be Viqueen?! Well worth a watch.
I am currently doing a diet plan with Bodychef which I’m loving. I want to lose a bit of weight and I find diet planning and calorie counting such a bore but Bodychef take care of all that for you and deliver the meals freshly cooked straight to your door-all you have to do is heat them up! Of course I still have to feed this ravenous family of mine, this week I’ve been making simple dishes such as ‘sundried tomato and balsamic vinegar spaghetti’ which is a seriously quick and easy dish that everyone enjoys and makes me slightly jealous at not having a huge plate of spaghetti for tea. Only slightly though, I am dedicated to the diet this time!
This week I’ve been loving a brilliant blog called Bottle for 2 written by the lovely Lucy. Lucy writes with an effortless clever wit and can even turn her hand to poetry! I especially enjoyed her post ‘Mum skills from the 70s’ I can’t believe she’s only been blogging since January as she has some cracking material on her blog already. Really happy to have found Lucy and her fab blog. Do let me know if you have a new blog I should check out I would love to hear from you!
I’ve basically lived in my Selfish Mother jumper this week. It’s so comfy, easy to throw on and is really stylish. You can see my style post featuring Selfish Mother here and read more about the wonderful women’s charity that Selfish Mother donate profits from sales to.
I had a huge response on my social media when I posted a pic of my new ‘motivational bottle’ from Nativ hq I know it sounds a bit cheesy BUT it’s such a good idea if you struggle to drink enough water, which is something I have a problem with. There are markings on the bottle so you can monitor what you’re drinking as the day goes on and you have to fill it twice to get your daily quota. I know I could just go fill up a glass from the tap 8 times a day but for some reason drinking it from the bottle is so much better, plus it stays really nice and ice cold if you keep it in the fridge which I prefer. Oh and it says ‘BEAST MODE’ on it so I’m sold.
So that’s what I’ve been loving this week. How about you?
