I am well aware that it is supposedly the middle of Summer, however last week I’m not entirely sure the weather Gods got that memo. Instead of basking us in their glorious sunshine they decided to teach us a thing or two; punishment for buying a new BBQ I suspect, and opened the heavens instead.
Fear not good people of Great Britain, I have the perfect solution for those horrid rainy days in the form of… the humble brogue. Worn with or without tights, paired with a dress or skinny jean, these shoes are a new wardrobe staple of mine, aren’t they nice?
I think brogues can get a bit of a bad rep for being a sensible old lady-ish type of shoe but they are still going strong in the fashion stakes, capturing the essence of the city girl but with a good ol’ country twist.
This particular pair of shoes fit perfectly-as you would expect from Clarks-and are impeccably well made, another given. The humble oak colour goes with just about anything and there is enough of a heel for you to feel like you’re wearing a ladies shoe. The design is fab and features such as the punching detail are all the things I look for in a quality shoe. Made to provide comfort all day long, I can confirm the software cushioning kept my little tootsies pain-free.
My recommendation? Get yourself down to Brantano and while you’re stocking up on the back to school range for the kids (super value by the way) have a gander in the Clarks section, I’m sure you’ll find something you like…
*these brogues were gifted in exchange for a feature. All thoughts and words are as always my own.
