A bank with a conscience, sounds a bit too good to be true doesn’t it?
I thought so until I heard about Triodos Bank, an ethical bank that only lend to and invest in organisations that benefit people and the environment. Triodos Bank believe that profit doesn’t need to be at the expense of the world’s most pressing environmental problems. That’s why they finance organisations from organic food and farming businesses and pioneering renewable energy enterprises to recycling companies and nature conservation projects.
Triodos bank tackling inequality and injustice
At Christmas Mr T and I bought only charitable gifts for the whole family, for his mum, we sponsored a child for a year – a sponsorship that she will take over for herself once the year has passed. His sisters, we donated to Water Aid on their behalf and for my sister we used Send a Cow (to send a goat!) I was really delighted to see that Triodos Bank has partnered with the brilliant Send a Cow organisation. By choosing a gift large or small YOU can change a family’s future, how fantastic is that?
I do a lot of work with charities and I am a firm believer that big organisations such as banks have a moral and ethical social responsibility. That’s why I am helping to spread the word about Triodos Bank today, they are changing the face of finance by improving lives and tackling inequality and injustice. Working with entrepreneurs across a whole spectrum, encouraging innovative thinking and commerce which in turn can only be beneficial to communities.
Your money has a value and you could make it count, I would encourage you to consider sustainable ethical saving with Triodos Bank. I don’t think things will ever change unless we collectively look at ways in which we can all have a positive impact and the way you save is one of the first steps in making those changes.
