For those of you who don't already know I was recently asked to appear in a video for City & Guilds you can read about my day here.
The video explores the many different apprenticeships and career opportunities within the Royal Opera House from a parents' perspective and is part of the #opendoors campaign that City & Guilds are running at the moment.
As part of this campaign City & Guilds have today released findings from some really interesting research from a nationwide survey conducted involving over 3500 parents. The study was focussed on the views of parents about young people and career decision making. One of the key statistics from this research and probably the most headline grabbing fact is that two-thirds (66%) of parents surveyed don't feel the current education system prepares children for work.
Click the link below to view the full research report. There are some really interesting statistics.
I will be blogging more about the findings of the survey over the coming days and tell you about the radio day I've been involved in today, all very exciting!
I really hope you like the video, let me know what you think and I hope to see some of you at The Skills Show at the Birmingham NEC on 13-15th November.
If you liked this post then why not..
