    Garfunkel's in Bath-Preview Christmas Menu

    Garfunkel's Bath

Yesterday evening we were very kindly invited to preview the Christmas Party Menu at Garfunkel's in Bath. With glorious views of the city, the promise of a lovely Christmas atmosphere and top quality food on offer, it would have been hard to refuse.

The restaurant itself is a very grand Grade 2 listed building in The Orange Grove area of Bath. There are views of Bath Abby and Pulteneny Bridge. As frequent visitors to Bath being only 40 mins away, I had seen both of these landmarks in the daylight but going in the evening when it's dark brought a whole new perspective and excitement to our evening. It was actually really romantic to walk from where we'd parked and take in the City sites as a couple when usually we're laden down with the kids. Anyway, I digress..onto the food!

For our starter we had a selection of two dishes from the menu. They were the chicken liver pate and warm goats cheese salad both were really nice. I love an excuse to eat Pate and always indulge around Christmas time.

For our main course we were brought a selection of meats; confit of duck leg and roast chicken, pigs in blankets and some stuffing. We also had a bowl of seasonal veg each which consisted of mini roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and the most gorgeous roast parsnips. Justin said they were the best he'd tasted and then very quickly added apart from the ones I make him! We both agreed that the veg is as important as the meat when having a meal like this and that poorly cooked veg can completely ruin the whole meal. So a big thumbs up from us for that. The duck leg was absolutely divine and I almost didn't have enough room for the massive portion of chicken, but since I'd been saving myself all day I thought it would be rude not to give it a good go!

For dessert Justin chose the Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce and I went for the warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream (obviously!) Both of those disappeared within a matter of minutes and as we were in a nice restaurant I resisted the urge to lick my plate!

We had a really lovely evening at Garfunkel's, it was so nice to go out as a couple for a meal and some quality time together. I would definitely recommend trying out the Christmas menu for yourself, the quality of food, service and atmosphere was absolutely superb. The Christmas party menu is available for
    Two courses £18.95
    Three courses £22.95

*We were invited to Garfunkel's to preview the Christmas menu for free but the thoughts and opinions in this blog are my own.
