According to the weather forecast the UK is set to have bright and sunny days and evenings until well into October. We have been so spoilt with the weather this year, haven't we?
We love throwing the patio doors open, firing up the BBQ and eating outdoors, but doing a BBQ can seem like a bit of a faff especially if there's lots of mess to clear up afterwards.
Regina commissioned a survey of British families to uncover the ‘stress of mess’ and the impact it has on enjoying family moments.
The results revealed:
- 84% of clean conscious UK parents think BBQs are messy
- Over a third of British parents have put off hosting a BBQ because of the fear of the mess
- The average UK parent spends almost 40 minutes cleaning up after a BBQ
- The top expectations from hosting a BBQ are loads of mess, the grill taking ages to clean and sticky fingers.
- Ribs were found to be the BBQ food parents avoided serving most, with 41% admitting to avoiding them because they are too messy, followed closely by chicken wings (30%).
I am definitely part of those statistics!
Below is a list of foods that parents have avoided serving at BBQs as they are too messy:
- Ribs
- Chicken wings
- Burgers
- Hot Dogs
- Ice Cream Cones
- Chocolate Baked Bananas
- Kebabs
Chocolate Baked Bananas? I have been missing out! I didn't even know that was a thing at a BBQ but they do sound really messy.
We're vegetarian so don't cook ribs or kebabs but there are a few really messy vegetarian foods that I'd personally add to that list. Jackfruit is the worst culprit because it gets stuck to the grill closely followed by jerk cauliflower in a wrap which, thanks to its odd shape never actually stays in the wrap and ends up tumbling everywhere.
We recently had a BBQ and I preempted clearing up the mess (including jerk cauliflower!) by making sure I had Regina Blitz Original to help clear up afterwards.
It's handy to pop on the table and give everyone a couple of sheets to hold underneath wraps and burger buns making sure any drips or spilt food lands in the kitchen roll rather than making an almighty mess all over the table, floor or everyone's clothes.
I snapped a few pics of our BBQ but what I didn't photograph - because I was too busy clearing up - was Rose knocking over her juice. Luckily the Regina kitchen roll was within grabbing distance and enabled me to quickly mop the table and clean up the sticky mess before the wasps accended. Nothing will ruin a BBQ quicker than a swarm of wasps and a 5-year-old that runs around flapping her arms and screaming "GET THEM AWAY MUMMY"
Disaster averted!
The quality of the kitchen roll means that I can clean up any mess quickly and effectively.
Regina Blitz’s triple layer sheets with super-strong unique emboss are almost 70% bigger than standard kitchen roll and specially designed to be used both inside and outside the home.
I don't just use Regina Blitz for BBQs, I always have a roll in the kitchen that can be used to clean up emergency spills on the countertop or if the dog knocks over his bowl on the kitchen floor I can grab some Regina Blitz to clear it up. It's really good on cleaning day for polishing chrome and glass. It's strong, absorbent and reliable and comes on a nice big roll which lasts ages.
So don't worry about #TheStressOfMess any longer and make sure you've got a roll of Regina Blitz on hand for your next BBQ. Let's enjoy the last of the summer sun without worrying about the clean up!
Regina Blitz is available to buy from all leading supermarkets as well as independent retailers priced £2.50 (RRP).
