Just 5 very simple ingredients are needed to make this easy Biscoff Puff Pastry Christmas Tree. The pre-rolled pastry is spread with Biscoff, baked in the oven then covered in cinnamon sugar. Tear and share and dip in warm Biscoff spread for the ultimate sharing dessert!
You will almost certainly have seen the festive looking Christmas Tree desserts stuffed with Nutella - but have you ever tried one with Biscoff?
Now is your chance ;-)
I'm going out on a limb to say this is certainly an acceptable breakfast for Christmas day. If you loved my Tear and Share Pain Au Chocolat you are going to go crazy for this Biscoff Puff Pastry Christmas Tree recipe!
As you can see this is an incredibly easy pull-apart dessert (or Christmas breakfast!) to put together. It will only take you around 10 minutes to prepare and bakes in the oven in 15-18 minutes.
Once baked, brush with melted butter then coat the entire thing with sugar mixed with cinnamon. This turns the puff pastry twists into a churro-like heavenly texture!
Dip the tree's 'branches' into warm Biscoff spread and wait for the "oohs" and "ahhs" as people marvel at your Christmassy creation.
I also made a version of this with Nutella AND Biscoff layered together on the puff pastry. If you decide to do this, it's nice to serve it with a pot of warm Nutella and a pot of warm Biscoff spread to dip in!
You could by all means, use this method and replace the Biscoff spread with Nutella or any other spread for that matter.
You can also substitute the cinnamon sugar with simple icing sugar if you wanted to, although I think the sugar and cinnamon combo works perfectly with the deep caramel flavour of the Lotus Biscoff spread.

A few tips to make it easier for you
- To make things easier, use ready-rolled puff pastry sheets as opposed to a block.
- Take the sheets of puff pastry out of the fridge 30 minutes before you plan to use them.
- Don't attempt to try this with frozen pastry as you will not be able to twist it and it will snap.
- Warm the Biscoff up for 30 seconds before to make it easier to spread. Likewise, warm the dipping Biscoff up too.
- Don't forget to egg wash for a beautifully browned pastry.
- Best eaten hot from the oven.
Make it vegan
Vegans worldwide rejoice in the fact that Lotus Biscoff is Vegan - hurrah! You can easily veganise this whole recipe. Just do the following:
- Instead of using an egg wash brush the pastry with plant-based milk.
- To make the sugar and cinnamon stick, swap the butter for vegan butter or brush the pastry all over with maple syrup.
Questions and answers
I used 2 packets of Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Ready Rolled Sheet (320g) They consist of one rectangular sheet measuring approximately 350mm x 230mm.
Yes, you can absolutely prepare this the night before then add the egg wash just before baking.
You can but you would need to take it out of the freezer and let it defrost before you try to handle it or it will snap when you go to twist the branches.
Absolutely! It's just easier and quicker to use the ready rolled sheets. I recommend you roll the pastry out to 4-5mm thick.
Make smaller pull apart Christmas trees with it, or make extra stars using the same method as the star on the tree!

This was amazing! So delicious and easy to make. If it is to serve 10 though then that must be 10 very self controlled people...

haha yes that's true about ten people! Really glad you liked it, Amy

Hi there I would love to make this for Christmas but a veganized version! Is the egg wash on top a must? Or shall I use some type of replacer to give it the nice browning?
Amy Treasure
Hi! You can just brush it with plant based milk :-)

Hello, do you think I could add chopped pecans to this?
