How Many Ways Are There to Onken It?

    By Amy Treasure · Aug 27, 2018 · Leave a Comment

One pot of Onken 0% Fat Vanilla Yoghurt.

    Three recipes.

    Challenge accepted.

Did you know Onken was the first brand to put yoghurt in a big pot? Genius! I couldn't be without my big pots of Onken yoghurt in the fridge, they're so handy and accessible for the whole family to enjoy however they like. Dolloped on cereal, used to bake with or if you're anything like my 18-year-old daughter - eaten straight from the pot!

Ever the innovators, Onken are encouraging people to 'Onken It' by seeing how many recipes can be made from one pot.

Onken yoghurt comes in lots of varieties and flavours and is really versatile so the possibilities with using it to bake and cook sweet or savoury recipes are endless!

I can think of loads of recipes where yoghurt is used so I made a big list and then narrowed it down depending on the quantities I needed.

    I settled on three recipes:

    • My Blueberry Banana Bread uses Onken yoghurt because it gives the banana bread an incredible texture and flavour. The yoghurt ensures the bread stays light and moist and if you've never tried using yoghurt in banana bread before, you're in for a surprise as it makes a huge difference!
    • Eton Mess Roulade with a Whipped Yoghurt and Cream Filling. Substituting a third of the cream with yoghurt not only makes this indulgent dessert healthier, it makes an amazingly fluffy and silky smooth filling with just the right amount of sweetness thanks to the vanilla. It works so well with the meringue and strawberries, it's a heavenly combination.
    • Vanilla Yoghurt Coated Granola Bars are so simple to make you'll never feel the need to buy store bought ones again. The granola bars are really quick and easy to make and coating them with yoghurt helps to keep them soft and chewy. Perfect for breakfast on the go or for popping into lunchboxes.
