Cute as a button mini Christmas puddings with an Oreo cookie base and huge fluffy white marshmallow encased in chocolate. And don't forget the cherry on top!
This lovely little sweet treat is made with just 5 simple and cheap ingredients and they are very quick and easy to make.
Give them as gifts at Christmas or enjoy them for a festive snack!
You know I love novelty Christmas baking. Just like my Reindeer Cheesecake or this White Chocolate Cheesecake with Strawberry Santas, you can guarantee I'll keep bringing you unique festive ideas to try at home.
These Marshmallow Xmas Puds are an adorable treat and kids will love joining in with the fun too.
As I mentioned, you need very few simple ingredients to make these and it won't break the bank either.
What you need
- Oreos - I used double stuffed Oreos because they have more filling. When you bite into the Christmas pudding you can see a lovely definition of the white part of the Oreo Cookie.
- Marshmallows - As we are vegetarian I used my favourite vegan marshmallows from Dandies. They are bigger and fluffier than the regular white marshmallows you can buy and a much better texture.
- Milk and white chocolate - I used Callebaut chocolate as I buy it in bulk. I recommend you use a good-quality chocolate as it is an integral part of the pudding!
- Glace cherries - Use half a glace cherry to mimic the holly berry often used to decorate Xmas puds.
- Mint Leaves - Fresh mint naturally has two tiny leaves at the top of each stem. They are perfect for using as decoration.

Make it vegan
These Marshmallow Christmas Puddings are practically vegan already. So, very easy to veganise - Hooray!
✅ Oreos are "accidentally vegan"
✅ Dandies marshmallows are vegan with no artificial flavours, colours, corn syrup or gelatin. They are also gluten-free!
✅ Glace cherries are vegan (avoid any with E20 on the label)
✅ Fresh mint is, of course, vegan!
✅ All you need to do is make sure you use a good vegan milk and white chocolate and you're all set :-)
Tips to make perfect Marshmallow Christmas Puddings
- Before placing the marshmallow on top of the Oreo, squeeze it between your fingers to make it more of a round shape. Watch the recipe video to see what I mean!
- Put a clean piece of baking paper underneath a wire cooling rack and assemble the Oreos on there. When you pour the chocolate over the paper will catch any excess. If you're very quick you can scrape it up with a knife and reuse it.
- If you're using Callebaut chocolate you can safely melt it in the microwave in short bursts. However, if you're using something like Cadbury's it's better to use the bain-marie method. This means breaking up the chocolate into small pieces and melting it in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.
- In the video I used a small jug to pour the chocolate over but actually found it much easier to use a teaspoon on subsequent goes.
- Leave the milk chocolate to completely set before adding the white chocolate and other decorations.
- Put the melted white chocolate into a piping bag with the end snipped off. This will give you much more control to get the 'splat' pattern on top. Be aware that the chocolate will continue to drip down once you've put it on so add slightly less than you think you need.
How long will they last?
The Marshmallow Christmas Puddings will last for 2 days if kept in an airtight container.
After 2 days the Oreo starts to go a bit soft and the chocolate coating won't look as glossy.
The mint leaf won't stay perky for longer than a day or two either. This is definitely the type of sweet treat/gift that can't be made in advance.
They are so quick to make though so you can rustle them up in no time!
Hope you love them as much as we did. My kids honestly went crazy for them!! Please leave me a star rating below and don't forget to tag me on Instagram @amytreasureblog if you make these.

Marshmallow Christmas Puddings
Cute as a button mini Christmas puddings with an Oreo cookie base and huge fluffy white marshmallow encased in chocolate. And don't forget the cherry on top!
Ingredients
- 6 Oreo Double Stuffed Cookies
- 6 Dandies large marshmallows
- 300g milk chocolate, melted
- 100g white chocolate, melted
- 3 glace cherries, cut in half
- 6 sprigs of mint
Instructions
- Place a clean piece of baking paper underneath a wire cooling rack.
- Put the Oreo cookies on the wire rack then place a marshmallow on top of each cookie. Use your fingers to shape the marshmallow into a circular shape.
- Pour over the melted milk chocolate ensuring all the sides of the marshmallow and cookie are covered.
- Leave to set on the wire rack.
- Add the melted white chocolate to a piping bag with the end snipped off (only snip a tiny bit of the bag off so there's a very small hole). Drizzle the white chocolate on top of the milk chocolate in a 'splat' shape (see pics and video in the blog post).
- Place half a glace cherry on top of each pudding and a couple of mint leaves.
Notes
This recipe can be easily scaled to make as many or as few as you like. Have fun!
